Dean Fields

Bio

“Go, so you can say you saw him when.” –says the Miami Herald, “He sings with the tender high tenor of Tim Buckley and the plain-spoken poetry of Jim Croce." Originally from Mechanicsville, Virginia, Dean Fields was discovered recently by The Miami Herald’s Evelyn McDonnell at a songwriting event in Florida. He was soon named “Best of Miami” by local press, picked to play at the premier of Billboard Live, bailed on grad school and dedicated himself to his first love. “I just woke up one day and said, ‘screw this, all I want to do is play music.” Since hitting the road in 2003, he’s been fueled by a single-minded passion to play, with over 250 club and college shows in the past 18 months alone. Dean has shared the stage with John Hiatt, Bruce Hornsby, Martha Wainwright, Hootie and the Blowfish, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Tracy Bonham, Cary Brothers, Aqualung, Virginia Coalition, The Honorary Title, Carbon Leaf, Angie Aparo, Pat McGee Band, Catie Curtis, Rusted Root, Richard Julian, among others. His debut album has gotten rave reviews and is one of CDBaby’s top selling albums. His music is being featured on MTV’s Real World, Road Rules and Sorority Life. His new solo disc SONGS ON THE MEND is available now.
